Applicable from January 1st, 2026

In addition to the legal warranty against hidden defects, our products benefit, from the date of delivery, from a commercial warranty according to their nature and intended use.

The product(s) that benefit from this warranty and their duration are defined below.

Subject to specific provisions, the contractual warranty is subject to the conditions of the legal warranty defined in the general terms and conditions of the contract, which it supplements. (In particular for the installation conditions defined in Article 5 of the general terms and conditions of MAISON CADIOU's contract).

Manufacturing Warranties

Manufacturing of gates - fences - railings - pergolas - carports:

All our aluminium gates, fences, railings, pergolas and carports are warranted against any manufacturing defect or abnormal deformation.

This warranty is granted subject to strict compliance with installation conditions (including motorisation), storage, use and maintenance.

Up to 30 years warranty for aluminium products

The manufacturing warranty duration for aluminium products depends on the range and/or product sub-family.

Up to 30 years warranty for wood products

The slats, cladding and wooden parts of our gates, fences, railings, pergolas, carports are warranted for varying durations depending on the wood species. This warranty exclusively covers:

• swelling or shrinkage exceeding 2.5% in any direction during normal use,
• fungal decomposition or rot (within this warranty, fungal decomposition shall be limited to decomposition caused by all soft rot fungi and fungal species Paria placenta, Coniophora puteana, Gloeophyllum trabeum, Corriolus versicolor, Serpula lacrymans; it shall not include common surface moulds, rust or any other organism, bacteria or fungus)

The warranty is granted if swelling and fungal decomposition disorders are such that the product can no longer fulfil its intended function, and subject to strict compliance with installation, storage, use and maintenance conditions.

Aluminium Powder Coating Warranties

The powder coating warranty covers profiles only. (excluding accessory coating: see accessories warranties).

The warranty covers the following defects:

• Peeling,
• Flaking or blistering
• Corrosion, other than corrosion caused by bending or deformation due to impacts or other external element interaction

Up to 30 years powder coating warranty

The powder coating warranty duration for aluminium products depends on the range and/or product sub-family.

Seaside (as the crow flies)

The warranty is reduced to 10 years for products installed less than 5 kilometres from a coast.

• The warranty is reduced to 5 years for products installed less than 500 metres from a coast.
• The warranty is excluded for products installed less than 50 metres from a coast.

Information about powder coating

Powder coating ageing (softening, soiling, permeability, chalking, loss of gloss, uniform discolouration...) is a gradual and natural phenomenon, not a defect.

Delamination of resins surrounding the pigments occurs through the combined action of UV, rain and pollution. The pigments will be directly exposed to external elements.

In the long term, they are on the free surface and after wiping they are found on the cloth. This is natural depigmentation.

To delay this phenomenon, it is necessary to clean your powder-coated product regularly and from installation (See our cleaning instructions and recommended products in our documentation).

Motorisation & Home Automation Warranties

Motor warranty

All motors sold by us are warranted for 24 months.

Motor installation must be carried out in accordance with our installation guides and the motor manufacturers' recommendations.

The CE performance declaration for our motorised gates is only valid with motors sold by us. (in accordance with standard NF 13241-1+A1).

Hardware Warranties

Accessories warranty

Accessories and hardware fitted to our gates such as hinges, profile end caps, handles, locks, fixings, rollers, electric strike, etc... and what could be called "wear parts"... benefit from a 2 year warranty against functional, material or manufacturing defects and coating defects.

Usage Instructions

Gates, fences and railings must be used under normal conditions.

The following are considered abnormal usage conditions

• Operating the gate during windy episodes
• Forcing the gate or pedestrian gate to operate it
• Slamming the gate or pedestrian gate to close it. (or to open it if there are door stops)
• Climbing over the gate or pedestrian gate.

Gates and pedestrian gates must operate without forcing. If opening or closing the product is difficult, you should contact your installer.

Maintenance Instructions

Natural wear factors of powder coating

In the long term, exposure to sun, moonlight, sea spray and various external attacks (moss killer, weed killer, anti-graffiti product, ...) may slightly alter the shade of the powder coating.

Colour advice

Dark shades & solid fills

Dark shades (blacks, anthracites, deep blues...) can create a visual phenomenon called "piano effect" on solid gates or fences. This natural phenomenon is linked to powder coating and manifests as slight variations in appearance between slats.

For a perfectly uniform finish, our experts recommend:

• Solid gate or fence > prefer a light shade (white, light grey, sand...).
• Dark shade > opt for a louvred or openwork model and low sun exposure

Maintenance products

Motor maintenance instructions

The specific maintenance instructions provided by the motor manufacturer in the product packaging must be followed.

Hardware maintenance instructions (hinges, locks...)

• Check the proper operation of the lock and its proper fixation.
• Use a paraffin-type spray lubricant to maintain the lock and hinges regularly (at least once a year) and before first use.
• Check and tighten the bolts and hinge fixings regularly (once a year) (if possible by a professional).

Warranty Exclusions

General exclusions

Excluded from the warranty are the consequences of wear and tear, normal wear, misuse, lack of maintenance, improper installation (non-compliance with installation instructions, including motorisation), as well as defects resulting from force majeure (such as acts of war, explosion, natural disasters...) or third-party intervention or any modification not expressly accepted by the company.

Discolouration of materials resulting from exposure effects, weather and/or environment is not a defect and is therefore not covered by the warranty.

The appearance of a RAL colour may vary depending on the material to which the coating is applied. Any colour differences observed for the same RAL between company products and other pre-existing or subsequently installed elements do not engage the company's liability and are not covered by the warranties.

Specific exclusions

Powder coating warranty exclusions

Any form of degradation of the paint layer caused by:

• abnormal use, normal wear or ageing
• use of different class profiles on the same site
• deformation of the bearing surface
• mechanical causes
• significant or violent thermal shocks
• friction from blunt objects
• damage that does not affect the aesthetic appearance of the whole
• faulty drainage of the assembly
• aggressive environment (particularly chlorinated environment and seaside)

• Damage caused by cleaning or contact with products or materials to which the paint layer is not chemically resistant, or caused by repair defects
• Damage caused by unwise use of products, structures or materials, or use of products, materials or structures for which they are not intended.
• Damage caused by continuous or abnormal immersion in aqueous solutions.
• Damage caused directly or indirectly by cracking or damaging of the paint layer on structured profiles or parts that have undergone deformations such as bending or curving after application of the paint
• Damage caused by galvanic couples from the application of incompatible alloy components (copper, lead, zinc, etc.)
• Damage caused by lack of maintenance or chronic poor maintenance

Motor warranty exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

• motors that have been opened, dismantled, broken, pierced or cut
• consumables such as batteries,
• damage resulting from installation error or negligence,
• damage resulting from incompatible associated elements,
• damage caused by lightning.
• damage caused by lack of waterproofing of the motor's electrical parts (humidity, insect intrusion...)

Hardware warranty exclusions

The various coating processes (Cataphoresis, Zinc plating, Paint, etc...) cannot offer a guarantee against corrosion. Steel articles, even treated, are liable to oxidise and cannot give rise to any claim.

Wood warranty exclusions

Natural degradation of wood, such as ageing, colour change, crack formation, resin exudations, or deformations due to humidity and temperature variations, is an inevitable phenomenon. These alterations result from exposure to natural elements (sun, rain, wind, etc.) and cannot be considered manufacturing defects. Consequently, they are not covered by the warranty.

The following are also excluded from warranties:

• Sound knots of varying sizes that may slightly detach after a certain time outdoors (Mainly for douglas fir)
